The Musings of a Fresher

Synopsis

The Musings of a Fresher is the first book in “The Narcissistic and Slightly Sex-Obsessed Diary of Archie Balman” trilogy and introduces us to Archie Balman. This book follows Archie’s tumultuous journey into his first year at university.

He has grand expectations of all the debauchery he will take part in, spurred on by the media’s stereotypical portrayal of the university lifestyle. However, he quickly learns that along with the pleasures university life affords him, it is by no means the walk in the park he was led to believe.

He excels with his university work in the first half of the year but, as usual, his arrogance gets the best of him and with his grades plummeting, he has to fight for his place to get into the second year of university. Couple this with a long list of scorned lovers and friends he has alienated, the stresses become almost unbearable.

For someone who was once a pantheon of social circles, Archie is now crumbling and he has to grapple for control of his life, before it is too late.
